Aloaye International Foundation Inc. — Founders Story

Aloaye International Foundation Inc. was born from profound loss, deep faith, and a calling to serve humanity. The organization was established in honor of Pastor Salisu Aloaye Marughu, a devoted husband, father, and community leader who passed away on February 17, 2020, after courageously battling stage 4 colon cancer.

During his lifetime, Pastor Salisu embodied service. He worked as a Realtor with Exit Realty Lucky in Newark, New Jersey, and served as a Certified Substitute Teacher in Essex County, supporting students across Newark Public Schools. His commitment to youth extended further through his work as a Social Worker with Newark Transitional, where he supported two group homes serving boys and girls ages 11–17. He also mentored teenagers through the Newark Youth Advocate Program, offering guidance, stability, and hope to young people navigating difficult circumstances.

For 16 years, Pastor Salisu served faithfully as a Regional Overseer with Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries, a role through which he touched countless lives with compassion, prayer, and leadership. His life’s work reflected a profound dedication to uplifting the vulnerable and strengthening families and communities.

Aloaye International Foundation Inc. is dedicated to preserving and advancing that legacy.

A Vision Born from Pain, Purpose, and Calling

The Foundation emerged from a vision to confront one of the world’s most deeply neglected humanitarian crises: the systemic marginalization of widows and orphans in African communities and among diaspora families in the United States.

The founders bring lived experience, professional expertise in social services and community development, and an unshakeable commitment to justice and compassion. They witnessed firsthand how widows in Nigerian and West African communities are often stripped of property, excluded from social and civic life, and left to navigate grief while fighting for survival. They saw orphaned children fall through the cracks of family and institutional systems, denied education, stability, and love.

These realities demanded action.

The Meaning of Aloaye

The name Aloaye carries cultural resonance — evoking belonging, solidarity, and the enduring bonds of community. These values sit at the very heart of the Foundation’s work.

Aloaye International Foundation Inc. was established as a bridge between resources and need, connecting communities across the United States and Africa. It stands as a trusted, culturally competent organization committed to delivering genuine, lasting impact to the most overlooked members of society.

Honoring a Legacy Through Service

Today, Aloaye International Foundation Inc. continues Pastor Salisu Marughu’s mission of compassion, empowerment, and faith. The Foundation transforms grief into purpose and purpose into action — ensuring that widows, orphans, and vulnerable families are seen, supported, and given the opportunity to rebuild their lives with dignity and hope.
